John 10:11
Christ is the Good Shepherd and the Good Shepherd lays down His life for His sheep
We are the sheep in His pasture, but how do we treat this Good Shepherd who cares for us?
We wander away from His care and go to graze in strange pastures
We quench our thirst in bitter streams instead of the sweet water He provides
We chase after desert plains instead of the land of abundance that our Good Shepherd has promised us
We follow other shepherds who do not care for us and forget the Good Shepherd who raised us from birth
And after we’ve wandered through the rough terrain and are scratched by every thorn and thistle, we finally remember the Good Shepherd who cared for us so lovingly
And we return to Him, the Good Shepherd doesn’t reject us. No, He welcomes us back into His embrace and is still willing to lay down His life for us.
