3 John 1:11

3 John 1:11 - Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, but he who does evil has not seen God.

It is so easy to fall into evil. The temptations are so sweet and readily available. Evil is easy and fun. The world is doing it and we are encouraged to follow.

But, we are not called to do evil. We are called to do what’s good. Not because it makes us better than others or reaps the richest rewards, but because we are of God. We cannot call ourselves God’s children and do evil over and over again.

God is light, so we must walk in His light, not be swallowed by darkness. The world is watching and waiting for us to fall. So, we must not give them that opportunity to boast in our failure. We must do good even if we are alone in our stance. We must do good even if it’s not a popular opinion. We must do good even if it goes against our very nature. And we must do good knowing that we belong to God.
