Joshua 2:21

Joshua 2:21

The Story of Rahab can be found in Joshua 2 & 6.

On the way to Jericho, two men embarked

A house on the way, there they parked.

The woman, Rahab, let them lodge

from the king, they hoped to dodge.

When the soldiers came knocking,

Rahab told a story most shocking.

The men left by the cover of night

But pursue them now, and you might find them before morning light.

Had they left? Did they flee? Where were the chaps?

Rahab hid them well, on her roof, under flax.

She knew of the power of Israel’s God

In their conquests, she was awed.

She had but one request

that her kindness might be manifest.

Her family’s life spared from death

when Jericho faced God’s wrath.

The only one spared was the harlot

and her family, secured with a cord of scarlet.

Into Christ’s line, Rahab was placed

and by her faith, her stain erased.
