Philippians 4:6-7
Philippians 4: 6,7 - Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Worry might just be the biggest concern going on in a person’s life, especially right now. We worry about our family, our finances, and our futures. We worry about the weather, stock markets, and education. We worry about job security, our health, and being politically correct. While these concerns are valid, we forget that our Father in heaven is the one who controls it all.
By worrying, we haven’t fixed anything. All we’ve done is add more stress to our lives. We must rely on God. He is faithful and just to sustain us. When we’re anxious, we need to lay our burdens at His feet. He’ll take care of it in His time. When we rely on Him completely for even our smallest needs, He provides us with peace. He comforts us and guards us. He protects our hearts and minds.
So what do we pray for? The answer is clear. Pray for whatever causes your anxiety, whether it be big or small. It can be to heal a papercut or to help you find a life partner. Nothing is too trivial to bring to God’s feet and nothing is so big that He can’t handle it.
