Free from Sin and Death

Romans 8:2 - For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 

Man is filled with sin from the day of his birth

It started with Adam and his life on this earth

Those transgressions extended to the generations to come

With sin abounding and into temptations they succumb 

Regardless of how hard he tried, no man could climb out

No matter how good or devout 

Because of the sin embedded in his blood

Another sacrifice was required to rid him of the mud

Animals sufficed for minor transgressions

But more was needed to deal with man’s indiscretions 

A sacrifice once and for all, God had in mind

His only Begotten Son to fulfill the plan He designed 

Jesus Christ would take on our sin and our shame

The wrath of God upon Him, it came 

And with that one act, our sins were wiped away

And not one ounce of blood did man have to pay 

Now all that is required is for us to believe 

On Christ as our Lord and for us to receive 

Forgiveness from God above

And live surrounded in His love 

Man has eternal life from the day he is born again

Because of Christ’s sacrifice, Amen!
