1 Corinthians 6:19
1 Corinthians 6:19 - Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
My body is mine to do as I please
On that, the world happily agrees
But your body does not belong to you
Not to the many, not to the few
Your body is a home
Not a rock or a dome
But the temple of God, true and Holy
Now let that sink in very slowly
The Holy Spirit resides within
He doesn’t just take a peek or listen in
He stays in your heart
And He will never depart.
Now, how do you treat this body that God lives in? Do you treat it kindly like you would your physical home? Or do you disgrace it?
Our body is a temple, a place of worship. It belongs to God, on loan to us while we are on this earth. We can’t use it for selfish reasons, but for the purpose that God designed for it.
We have no right to sin in God’s temple. We have no right to be wasteful or have bad attitudes in God’s temple. We have no right to do anything beyond using our bodies to glorify God. If you wouldn’t do it in a church, then you can’t do it with your own body.
